The Boat Factory description

Belfast 1947. The sun shines down on a post-war world. 16-year-old Davy walks through the gates of Harland & Wolff’s Titanic Shipyard to begin life as a carpenter’s apprentice. He soon discovers that the vast shipyard is like a city within the city, with 35,000 men working over 300 acres in 67 different trades. Regarded as the biggest and best there is, if you can dream it they can build it. Davy is taken under the wing of a cheeky young apprentice called Geordie and a lasting bond of friendship is forged as they adapt to their new life in the yard.

Already a proven hit with audiences and critics, “The Boat Factory” received glowing reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and has just completed a hugely successful four week run in New York City where Irish movie actor Liam Neeson and acting legend Vanessa Redgrave were some of the show’s biggest fans. ‘The Boat Factory’ will premiere inLondonin July after a two week tour of Ireland.
