Rambert Dance Company Mixed description
In 2011, Rambert Dance Company celebrates 85 years at the heart of British dance, producing and touring some of the UKÂ?s most iconic and memorable dance experiences. This May, audiences have a rare opportunity to enjoy the work of American choreographer, Paul Taylor, described by Martha Graham as the 'naughty boy' of dance.
A tribute to love and relationships, Roses was first created in 1985 and is set to music by Richard Wagner and Heinrich Baermann. The sensational Rambert dancers and orchestra also perform the London premiere of Monolith, by Tim Rushton, currently artistic director for Danish Dance Theatre. Admired for taking risks in his choreography, pushing vocabulary and choreographic craft to extremes, Monolith is Rushton's debut work for Rambert. The final piece in this diverse triple bill is the return of Henrietta Horn's witty and sparkling revue, Cardoon Club.
All three works will be played live by the Rambert Orchestra.
