Good People description
In South Boston you're starting on the wrong side of the tracks, so just making ends meet will require all the energy you can muster. And when sharp-tongued single-mother Margie loses her job she'll do anything it takes to pay the bills.
Hearing that an old boyfriend who has made good is in town, she decides to corner him with stunning consequences. David Lindsay-Abaire's funny, tender and provactive drama explores how even if you live on the brink, destiny always has a way of surprising you.
Following a sell-out run at Hampstead Theatre, the darkly comic Good People transfers to the Noël Coward Theatre for a limited 10 week run, starring the impeccable Imelda Staunton. She's reunited here with Jonathan Kent, who directed her to such great effect in Sweeney Todd and Gypsy. The play also stars Lloyd Owen.
An incisive slice of modern American drama, Good People won the New York Drama Desk Critic’s Circle Award for Best Play of the 2010 - 2011 Season.
